Truck Lighting: LED, Auxiliary & Work Lights

Valley driving includes dark rural roads, unlit ranch entrances, early-morning farm traffic, and a lot of trailers. The right lighting makes that safer; the wrong lighting blinds other drivers, fails after one wet season, or drains the battery. We have wired trucks for 38 years and care as much about the harness as the light.

On-Road vs Off-Road

This is the line we will not cross for you. Auxiliary light bars and high-output pods are for off-road and work use, not for the highway, and running them in traffic is illegal and dangerous. For real on-road improvement we look at headlight condition and aim first, then legal fog and driving lights mounted and aimed so they add light to the road without throwing glare into oncoming lanes. We will set up a switch arrangement that keeps off-road lights off unless you deliberately turn them on.

Auxiliary and Work Lighting

  • Fog and driving lights — aimed low and wide for rain, fog, and the dust that hangs over gravel roads.
  • Reverse lights — far brighter than factory, for hooking up trailers and backing into dim jobsites.
  • Bed and hitch lights — so a loaded bed or a trailer coupler is visible at night without a flashlight in your teeth.
  • Interior and cab lighting — practical upgrades for crews that work before sunrise.

Wiring That Lasts

Most light failures are wiring failures. We use proper relays and fuses instead of tapping a circuit that was never meant to carry the load, seal connections against dust and the salt air down near Brownsville, and route harnesses so they do not rub through on the frame. If the electrical system already has a fault, chasing it is part of our 4x4 repair service — adding lights to a truck with a bad ground just moves the problem around.

Lighting for Work Trucks and Fleets

For crews that run at night, the goal is even, reliable light at the bed, the hitch, and the sides of the truck rather than one dramatic bar on the roof. We set up work lighting as part of broader commercial fleet upfitting, and it pairs well with bed organizers and racks so the whole setup is usable, not just bright.
